Nissan stays with EIP

Following a full tender process against a number of leading UK providers, Equity Insurance Partnerships has retained it's affinity partnership with Nissan Motor (GB) Ltd.

The win sees EIP confirmed as the manufacturer's full affinity partner, charged with administering its branded Nissan Insurance programme for the next three years. EIP will underwrite Nissan's 'Free To Go' seven day motor insurance initiative - cover notes are emailed to dealers, allowing buyers to drive new or used vehicles away on the day of purchase.

Nissan's Aftersales Director, Dave Murfitt said: "We chose to stay with EIP because it consistently demonstrates a full understanding of our business, as well as alignment to our aspirations."

Charles Offord, EIP Managing Director says EIP has administered Nissan's motor insurance operation for around five years.

"Retaining the Nissan business," he adds, "is a real indication of our growing strength in the motor manufacturer affinity market. Extending the partnership will also allow us to offer policyholders new service initiatives aimed at developing long term relationships and adding value to the Nissan brand."

Nissan sold 96,000 vehicles in 2010, 85 percent of which were built at it's plant in Sunderland, making it the top selling Japanese brand in the country. It's success is being driven by exceptional demand for established models, such as the Qashqai Crossover, which continues to grow year-on-year market share.

UK production began in 1986, with today's total plant volume standing at more than 2,000,000 units. Nissan's product line-up, including the all-new Juke and 2011 GT-R are sold through it's 190-strong national dealer network.

The Nissan deal continues EIP's track record of successful collaborations with high profile motor manufacturer brands including Renault, Honda, Mazda, Kia and Triumph.
